sorry to neglect dis for so long. i kept forgetting to check in. tink datz the prob. pple r looking in (mayb even not) n leaving the blog wen dere's nothing new. is anyone even reading is? so tanks n king kong aside...
the new harry potter movie has been given alot of hype, praise n attention huh.. personally, i tink it shld b watched mainly for the special effects. dis movie franchise have been ruined by dementors swooping around like retarded poltergeitsts n death eaters turning into smoke. obviously i'm not one for drastic exaggerations wen it comes to something i'm a fan of. talking abt poltergeists, peeves has been completely smacked out of dis entire ting it seems.
LOVE luna. the actress has the perfect voice n look n acts better than emma watson. i've always been less than impressed w daniel radcliffe's acting but he SOOOO gd now!!! my shuai ge (^o^)v my conclusion itz too short too rushed n the fight at the ministry of magic was a huge letdown. the thestrals were wonderful tho. too bad dey showed so little of snape. if anyone is worth watching he is.
do u guys noe the actor who plays snape was in sense n sensibility? he was wooing kate winslet (sensibility) who was unfortunately taken in who a more charming man also wooing her lol (too bad he's a casanova)!! funny k, my lit class couldn't stop laughing.. we were like itz snape! itz snape! tink winslet falls for snape in the end..

I’m usually not a superstitious person, and I’m still not. But certain events tend to shake my firm dismissal of this widely accepted belief. Take last Friday for example, the 13th of July. Any such day is infamous for its malevolent foreboding and ill omen. Despite my skepticism, I can’t help but notice my increased string of bad luck befalling me that day. As Murphy once said, “What can go wrong will go wrong.” Is it coincidence that on a Friday the thirteen more of these things ‘happened’ to go wrong?
I reported to camp full of gaiety and optimism, as any normal person who does not have work throughout the weekend will feel on Fridays. We had healthy lifestyle in the first half of the morning, of which I participated with enthusiasm, due to the twin fact that I could do whatever I want and, as I have earlier mentioned, it was a Friday. After an hour of pumping iron followed by another hour of break, I felt deeply satisfied and proceeded to change out of my P.T. kit and into my coveralls. “BOOM!” the sexy beast lying dormant within me erupted with much force. If it had known what awaited it that day, the Sexy Beast would definitely have remained in its meditative state.
The IC then filled us in on the job scope for the day. Basically, there was only one job to be done; make sure that before 5:00pm a certain land rover is in working condition and can be booked out. Since there wasn’t much more to be done, we were all quite sure that it wouldn’t be much of a challenge.
First of all, I went under the rover to fix the exhaust pipe. It proved more challenging than I expected due to the confined area allowed me but nevertheless, it was done, and with much finesse too, thanks to the sexy beast. Secondly, there was another part of the pipe that had to be connected from above, which was accomplished rather easily. Then the time came for the installation of the propeller shaft, which proved a problem. There was no propeller shaft. It was not indented, and if it was it hadn’t arrived. My OJE peers and I started to panic, but apparently the other more experienced technicians knew what to do.
“This kind of thing vely easy can fix one. Just take from anudder vehicle and put into this one can oreadi lor!” my IC wisely said in a standard of English that would put Queen Elizabeth to shame.
We carried on as instructed and obviously with much success. Alas, it was at that moment when a series of unfortunate event unfounded. One of the outsourced technicians from Comfort Delgro inspected the undercarriage and proclaimed with certainty that the exhaust pipe was fixed wrongly. We thus had to disconnect and reconnect the bolts and nuts holding the pipe. However, that was not all, for after the second attempt at connecting we found out with much wailing and gnashing of teeth that initially it was not fitted wrongly but that it was supposed to be fixed that way. The clock was ticking, forcing us to quicken our pace.
Topping up the coolant was the next course of action then came that of the power steering fluid. Leaking ensued, duly noticed by a sergeant, who checked the source of the leak. He found out with much horror that the power steering fluid pipe was totally broken, meaning that we had to change it completely. Now comes the problematic part; to take the pipe out, the air filter and the radiator fan cowling assembly had to be removed first. Also, since we did not have a spare, another vehicle would have to be the sacrifice.
Silence.
“Alright, let’s pack up and go home. We’ll continue on Monday,” the sergeant announced.
We obeyed him without any hesitance whatsoever.

Personally, I don't think it's a bad idea. After all, the Bible is arguably a storybook (albeit a really long one), and we don't usually place verse numbers in our books, do we? Neither do we place chapter and verse numbers when we write letters or emails.

i'm experimenting. my previous post was put under draft n i wanna c if the same ting will occur. i've been made ogl of 1 of the 21 ogs in business fac which some of u might noe liao. it wasn't really short of senior volunteers, it was more like dey suddenly decided to have smaller groups so dat shrinks the denominator n yada yada... it ended up only 3 seniors/grp (dey have freshmen volunteers as wel from various camps so on freaky...) n among the 3 ask to chose ogl, aogl n councillor n i kena cos i lost in oyapeyasoum.
so we had the 1st trial runs of the games on campus (dere is another onslaught of games in sentosa) n i neglected to join their yahoo grp so i was unaware dere were games. my outfit ensemble consisted of a 3/4 sleeve white shirt, jeans n boots so imagine my surprise. pleasant. the malu part was almost everybody else was wearing black t-shirts (to id seniors) n shorts.
the biz com who planned the games were assuring us "o dun worry abt today. wun get dirty one" by the statement, i discovered wad dey meant was a 100% chance of getting splashed by water, a 30% chance of getting whacked in the face/upper body/lower body by a sponge soaked in soap water n a 15% chance of getting hit by a raw egg. as the probability suggested, i was fortunate enuf to escape w wet jeans only.
dat was last sat. on the sat after dis, we r going to sentosa where dey tel us "we r gonna get down n dirty!! seniors HOO-YAH!!!" "hoo-yah" we murmered obligatorily. so neway my frens have all begun their operation: pangseh whoever is going to sentosa so i shall do likewise. anyone like to come to my house dat day? i will bind myself to a grudging position as host n wrench my heart away from the frollicking going on on the other island dat is a part of dis island.

there's something wrong i can't write in the title box. pple dun have cable so didn't manage to watch the finals despite heartfelt yearning to =( Yes! transformers rocks! watched it last nite. the decepticons were so cool. dey r stealthy n speedy, not like the big n clumsy autobots but of course u side the autobots cos dey're the ones w the big hearts =] anyway the bad guys get cool transformations like fighter jets n tanks whereas the gd guys r just common vehicles.
the joys of a free meal indeed. last yr i used part of my money award to buy a laptop so since i dun have to buy a laptop dis yr i'm considering using dat amt to sign up for some facial treatment programme. whee!!

Haha... At least you have Internet access... My workplace has a dial-up 56k modem. :D
Anyway, today was Matriculation! Was supposed to go for some library talk with 3 other friends, but ended up that one of them and myself was late, so we decided to do our matriculation before our friends came out of the talk. The whole process was quite smooth... Alot faster than what I expected. The only thing that I wasn't too eager about was the signing up for FTB (Freshmen Team-Building), convocation (Welcome ceremony), and the Faculty Camp. Too much socialising for my taste. But I guess it's also a good way to meet new friends... Haha... I'm praying that I'll be able to find good Christian and non-Christian friends in SMU. :)
Oh, and I'm also gonna get ANOTHER laptop. :P:P Cos I'm under scholarship, there's a laptop grant. So I decided to use it to get a tablet PC, along with some peripherals. :D It was quite amusing, cos what I wanted to buy originally didn't add up to the full amount of the grant, so the fella at the booth was trying to suggest stuff to me to buy so that I could fully utilise the money. :P
My friend had an even better time... Cos he was under the same scholarship and bought a cheaper laptop, he was able to purchase even more peripherals, like portable hard drives! :P
Such is the power of a free lunch... Muahaha...

my family is conducting a bbq today!! chickenwings, suasages the works.. itz a reunion of frens old, new n current. sort of.. like an official housewarming. sorta like mj conducting itz open house 2 yrs after it opened house but anyway..
@ work @ the moment. obviously my supervisor is not doing a very gd job otherwise dis post wld b rendered MI. so boring. u sian i also sian. it really dampens ur quality of life. spending 81/2 hrs a day keying in bk prices, gst, discounts, processing charges, shipping fees... n datz the easier part. the aunties working in preparing the invoices for us to check in have to inspect bks. some of dem have been doing it for up to 10 yrs!! Horror..
the happiest times here wld b 22nd n 1st of each month cos on the 22nd, we get our payslip n on the 1st, our wages get cashed in. WHOO!!

i noe wad cliffton's talking abt. seeing ahboi's blog makes me feel quite old cos itz been so long since i experienced dat. mayb take some time to catch up on slp? Haha.. i wld feel quite bad refusing to go out w my frens cos i intend to finish hw or summat but just end up watching telly n re-reading animorphs/narnia for the twelfth time. uni gets more erratic..
talking abt uni.. the summers holidays r so lame. itz taking forever! can't believe i'm act looking up the websites hoping dey have posted timetables for modules i can take next sem. 14 wks is waaaaay too long. ok so mayb in a temperate country itz really too hot to attend sch during dis time of yr but beloved lion city always has dis problem so watz the pt? last sem seems like another lifetime alr. raring for the next term to start, woot!!
just wanna say keep up the good fight! act i like sch boring. hopefully dat means the stuff u guys r learning r so easy hearing the teacher teach it is boring. education rox!!

Reading all of your posts/blogs, I only have one thing to conclude:
I AM GETTING OLD. Haha...
Anyway, work has been good still. People have been popping by on Monday (Valerie) and Tuesday (Army buddy). And the obscene amount of free time I sometimes have, I play guitar, prepare Bible Study, etc.
Think my life's quite productive so far sia. :D
Oh ya, if you know anyone who's looking for a FULL-TIME job and can start in August, let me know. Looking for my hou4 dai4 ren2 for the shop already. *Chuckle*

Wow!
U guys r fast. The pics were uploaded b4 the sun set. So anyway here's wishing u guys an uneventful (homework-wise) n eventful (social life-wise) wk which just began even as i write dis. Took a 3 hr afternoon nap wen i reached home. The awakening made me feel like the earthquake had settled into the folds withing my tummy..
